Pier One Has Completed Us

On our way home from church (and Cafe Express) we stopped at Pier One to look around. Our Lifegroup had given us a housewarming gift card back in February. We've been in the store a number of times and have found PLENTY of items to buy, but we really wanted to use the gift card to buy something significant. As soon as we saw the table we loved it! We NEVER buy things when we first see them but we knew it was perfect. The only problem was that we were driving my car, so we went home checked online for its dimensions and went back. We bought it, rigged the back door of Mike's truck closed and now it has a home in our dining room. The pictures make it look too big for the room, but it isn't. I hope.

The description called it "rustic" which isn't usually something I like. The words "shabby chic," "country," and "rustic" usually make me run away but I think I've started to see how adding some different styles to your house gives it more dimension and adds some personality. Again, I hope.

In picture 1, notice the little Ikea table that has served as our "dining table" from the old house. The chairs are long gone (broken by Mike sitting in them) and the table is all the remains...for a few more hours.
